Call for finding a trainer for the “Intensive course for youth work trainers”

Estonian Agency for Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps is looking for a trainer who would create an engaging and relevant training programme to take place as an on-site training 16-19.08.2021 

Training target group:

The target group of the training is trainers in the field of youth.

 

The aim of the training:

The training aims to develop the following trainer’s skills:

– Creating a democratic and secure learning space

– Participation of the adult learner and the young person in the learning process

The trainer’s role in the training team – meaningful communication in the process of developing, preparing, conducting and following-up training. 

 

We wish to use active and efficient learning methods when addressing these diverse and related topics. The detailed programme and selection of topics will be finalized by the facilitator in cooperation with the Prep team.

 

The first two training days would be dedicated to opening and interpreting the training topics. In parallel, the participants will be creating 2-hour workshop models for involving local community participants. The workshops will aim to map community issues and possible solutions with the goal to support the community in writing a solidarity project in the framework of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC). There will be 4 trainer teams (2-3 participants in one team) that will execute the workshops. The communities will be chosen by the National Agency.

 

Each team will create and conduct one workshop. 

 

The third and fourth training days are focused on facilitating and analyzing workshops with the group and the trainer based on the focus of the training topic – creating a safe and democratic learning space, involvement of participants, and cooperation of the training team.

 

Time and venue:

  • The training takes place in Estonia. In a scenic location outside the city. The exact location is to be specified.
  • The training will last 4 days. 
  • The detailed programme and selection of topics will be finalized by the facilitator in cooperation with the Prep team.

Requirements for the trainer:

  • Good skills in training process analysis and group reflection.
  • Experience in creating logic and target group-based pieces of training for trainers
  • Good command of the English language 
  • Good understanding about youth field or/and civic society
  • Communicative, cooperative, proactive
  • Independent, reliable, and structured

 

Tasks:

Prepare and facilitate a 4-day training with about 12 participants (youth field trainers from Estonia).

 

  • The first day of the training also includes clarifying the needs and expectations of the participants, defining priorities and getting input for the programme. 
  • Suggest a programme flow and agenda. Propose clear methods.
  • Participate in the 1–2 short online prep meetings with the project team.
  • Prepare and create a participant’s self-reflection form.
  • Create a short final report with links, feedback and most important materials.
  • Participate in 1 short online follow-up meeting with the project team. 

 

Timeline (Working conditions, salary):

 

  • The training is planned to take place as an on-site training 16-19.08.2021. The organizers reserve the right to negotiate in case there is a need to change the training days until August 2022.
  • The Working language is English.
  • The trainer should be available to participate during the full training and in 2 virtual preparatory meetings and 1 follow up meeting (1,5 hours)

 

Salary:

750 euros + VAT for one training day, includes preparation and follow-up activities, including preparatory and follow-up meetings with the representatives of the agency.

 

Total fee 3000 euros + VAT. VAT will be paid additionally by the Estonian Agency for Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps.

 

Estonian National Agency will organise and cover the transportation, accommodation, and food for the trainer in Estonia one day before, during, and a day after the training.

  • Your previous trainer experience in the following topics: 
    1. Creating a democratic and secure learning space
    2. Participation of the adult learner and the young person in the learning process
    3. The role of the trainer in the training team – meaningful communication in the process of developing, preparing, conducting and following-up training.
  • If possible, please provide some videos where you are in the role of a trainer or share any written stories or articles (not obligatory).
  • The selection will be based on the presented CV and motivation letter.
